REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD ALWAYS KEEP YOUR DISTANCE WITH THE OPPOSITE SEX

Got this from a Friend!!!

Wande is a young man in his mid- thirties.  About eight months ago, he moved into a two bedroom apartment and as he got to know his neighbors better, he discovered that one of them, Mariam, was a widow. Mariam, in her early thirties, had been married just four years when her husband died in a motor accident; they had a son. Wande was moved by her plight and decided to help her whenever he could. He began by helping her put on the generator whenever there was power outage, then he helped to arrange for an electrician to help fix some faults in her apartment and even helped her once or twice to get fuel during the shortage crisis; as gratitude for his thoughtfulness, Mariam often cooked for him. Wande also grew close to Mariam’s son, Richard; he took him out a lot, spent hours playing with him and Richard often spent the better part of the weekends in Wande’s apartment. Though he had no ulterior motives for his actions, it became clear to Wande one evening that he had to put a stop to his actions when one of his other neighbours referred to Mariam as his wife; he soon learnt that people thought he was having an affair with Mariam and he decided to pull back from her but it was easier said than done. After two days of not seeing Mariam or picking her calls, Wande
realised that he missed her a lot and soon reverted to spending time with her and Richard. In all this,he never really thought of the fact that they were getting attached to
each other. Whilst all this was still going on, Wande met and began dating Kike. He had told Kike about Mariam earlier in their relationship but somehow the ladies had never met each other. At first, Kike had also felt compassion for Mariam and supported his lending a hand when necessary but when she noticed that Mariam and Richard’s names always cropped up whenever Wande was telling her about his day, she grew wary. One day, Kike asked to meet Mariam and Wande obliged. After the
visit, Kike told Wande that Mariam was in love with him and asked him to redefine their friendship. Wande did not believe Kike and teased her about her jealousy, but when she insisted and he sensed her seriousness, he promised to put a distance between himself and Mariam and he did. Some days later, Mariam visited Wande and accused him of avoiding her; at a point, she burst into tears as she told him that she loved and missed him and that he was a father figure to Richard, Wande had to fight himself not to take her in his arms to comfort her. He had to promise to see her the next day before
she left his apartment. Immediately, he called Kike and told her all that had happened; after scolding him for his carelessness with Mariam’s emotions, she encouraged him to continue avoiding Mariam. Wande and Mariam no longer speak to each other; in fact, she treats him as if he does not exist. It is
now clear to Wande that Mariam was emotionally attached and he wishes he had been more careful and considerate of her. He wanted to help but ended up hurting her and Richard.

MY DEDUCTION
Friendships are built and they occur on four
different levels .i.e. acquaintance, casual, close
and intimate friendship. An acquaintance is
someone you see once in a while and with
whom you only exchange greetings; an
acquaintance is an “hello-friend”. A casual
friend is someone with whom you actually
hold conversations; however, the
conversations are light-hearted and do not
involve any sharing of deep issues. Between
men and women, it is advised that the
friendship be restricted to either
acquaintance or casual level if both parties
are not romantically involved with each other;
this is simply to protect them from hurting
each other. A close friend is someone with
whom you share your thoughts, fears, hopes
for the future, etc; a close friend bonds with
you over time and has access to your heart. It
is therefore unwise and dangerous to have
close friendship with a member of the
opposite sex if he/she is not your spouse or
someone you intend to marry. This was the
mistake Wande and Mariam made
Women are emotional beings. When a woman
meets a man who listens, takes care of her
needs, spends quality time with her and just
generally shows that he cares, she opens up
and bonds emotionally with him; this is what
Mariam experienced with Wande. He was
more than a neighbour to her; he was a man
who cared for her as a woman, someone she
had grown to trust and even love. He had
become her close, almost intimate, friend and
to whom much is given, much is expected.
Boundaries are important in relationships;
they help to guard against heartbreak,
betrayal and pain. The level of friendship
desired determines the kind of boundaries
that will be built. If all you want is casual
friendship, don’t spend much time or
exchange confidence with the other person
and don’t encourage him/her to do so with
you either. Helping Mariam was a good idea
but Wande should never have allowed her to
share her fears, hopes and pain with him; it
was not right for him to grow close to her.
She was vulnerable and he took advantage of
that, though unintentionally. If they had
established boundaries for their friendship,
the story would have been different.
As we go through life, we will meet different
people. Some will remain in our lives forever
while some will leave after a short while but
irrespective of long we are a part of each
others lives, we must be careful to be good
and kind to each other. Purpose never to
leave another person wishing they had never
met you and one of the first steps towards
achieving this is having boundaries for all
your relationships. Do not share with an
acquaintance, casual friend, colleague,
secretary, driver, that which is meant for your
spouse or fiancé.
If like Wande, you have hurt someone
unintentionally, please ask God for
forgiveness and seek how you can make
amends (without getting yourself in the same
predicament again). Never underestimate the
power of repentance and offering an
apology; ask God to show you how you can
make amends.
If like Mariam, you are the injured party, you
need to forgive and let God heal your broken
heart. You also need to learn to handle your
emotions better; make decisions based on
information and not what you feel or think. Is
someone spending a lot of time with you?
Ask him/her to define what they want, do not
assume anything!!!

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT EBOLA

One of the worlds most deadly virus known as Ebola has claimed hundreds of life in its recent outbreak in west Africa.
The Ebola Virus Disease(EVD) has brought fear and panic in our world killing over 2000 people in west Africa.
Ebola was first discovered in Guinea spreading through Sierra Leone, Liberia and now in Nigeria.
Ebola is a highly infectious disease killing up to 90% of the people who catch it causing fear and terror among infected communities as there is no known vaccine for it.
Here are what you should know about EVD

WHAT IS EBOLA:
According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) refer to Ebola to a group of virus that causes viral hemorrhagic fever causing multiple organ failure accompanied by internal and external bleeding.
The virus is named after the Ebola river in the democratic Republic of Congo(formally Zaire)

TYPES OF EBOLA:
There are five different strains of the virus according to the World Health Organization- Named after the area they originated in.
These are:
The Bundigyo Ebola- An area in Uganda where the virus was first discovered in 2007
Sudan Ebola
Zaire Ebola
The Ivory Coast Ebola- Discovered when a researcher studying wild chimpanzees became ill in 1994 after an autopsy of one of the animals. The researcher recovered.
Reston Ebola- Named after Reston in the US state of Virginia where its strain was discovered in monkeys imported from the Philippines.

SYMPTOMS
Early symptoms include sudden onset fever, weakness, muscle pain, headaches and sore throat.
The early symptoms progress to vomiting, diarrhea, impaired kidney and liver function and some times internal and external bleeding.

TREATMENT
There are no known vaccine for Ebola.
Patients can only be isolated and then supported by health care workers.
This consists of hydrating the patient, maintaining their oxygen status and blood pressure and treating them for any complicating infections says MSF.

MODE OF SPREADING
It is believed that fruit bats may be the natural host for the Ebola virus in Africa passing it to other animals.
Human contract Ebola through contact with bodily fluid of infected animals and humans.
MSF says while the virus is believed to be able to survive for some days in liquid outside an infected organism, chlorine disinfectant, heat, direct sunlight, soaps and detergents can kill it.

NOTE: "The virus is not air borne", said Dr Marty Cetron, director of CDC's Division of Global Migration and Quarantine. "there need to be direct contact with bodily fluids or blood"

THE RIFT BETWEEN NATIVE AFRICANS AND THE BLACK AMERICANS: The causes

Sometimes i wonder why Native Africans and Black Americans would ever have to develop hatred for each other even when they are aware of the similarities between them.
The hatred between Native Africans and the Black Americans have been dated back to in time to the days of the missionaries evading Africa and exposing them to what we call civilization and during that era, some Africans accepted them with open arms while some rejected them
Please bear in mind that not all Africans has this hatred for Black Americans, some of us still see them as wonderful people. I know i do

THE FIVE ORIGINAL CAUSES
There are several things responsible for the rift between native Africans and the Black Americans

  • MISCONCEPTIONS: one of the things that causes problems between the Native Africans and the Black Americans is lack of thorough understanding between the two groups.                   The Black Americans view the Native Africans as being primitive and stupid while the Native Africans believes that the Black Americans as very lazy and violent
  • THE MEDIA: Another thing responsible for this calamity is the media. the US media views Africans as being inferior and naive, making expensive jokes about them and ignoring the great contribution Africa has made to the world.                                                                               The African media does has its flaws also. Its own view of the Black Americans is that they are stubborn and not well brought up.(in terms of African culture) and as people who has lost their way completely, forgetting the sacrifices made by the Black Americans in making the united states a conducive and a wonderful place for the African race without been questioned or intimidated.
  • RACISM AND DISCRIMINATION
  • CULTURAL DIFFERENCES:A shared complexion does not equal a shared culture, nor does it automatically lead to friendships, Whether we like it or not, Africans and African-Americans have two different and very distinct cultures.
  • ADVERSITY: 70% Native Africans living in the United States are found to be living a low life. They take on any job and are fund of being insulted from virtually anyone still they are not easily angered owing to the fact that they are only there for education or to make some dollars that they could take back home and start something tangible for their lives. So they don't participate in fight and parades for civil right led by the Black Americans which in turn angered the Black Americans making them to think that Africans are bunch of cowards that can't even stand up for their own people.                                                                                         According to Tracie Reddick  "When most Africans come here (the States), their first priority, by and large, is education," he says. "Right here you have a tool that allows you to open doors within American society.

MY OPINION
I believe the only way out is unity. both Native Africans and the Black Americans must unite to instill discipline and respect for each other so that the rift that divides us could be narrowed. until we both work together to remove poverty from our various communities and to stand for each other in a world that has threatened to annihilate us. Only then can we truly say, we are Africans

HOW TO SAY I MISS YOU WITHOUT ACTUALLY WRITING THOSE WORDS

In life, not everything is smooth, not everything goes on the way you want it to. And when you miss your love,  sweetheart, your emotions are strong, crying out for help. but saying i miss you without actually writing the words can hard sometimes but still it is only be possible if your love towards that person is genuine. Ranging from family members to those we claim to love.
This is what to actually do to make that I MISS YOU expression more genuine

Try having deep emotional conversation with the person. Talk about the things you loved when the person was with you (when the person was around you).
Talk about those things you really missed about the person when they left for that business trip or for college (like how the person's smile brings joy to your face, like how those little help they rendered to you was so important, like how those silly thing they do sometimes are your only means of laughing or how their presence in your life made a huge difference.)
then crown it with how you'll be so happy if you ever have the chance  to be with them like you use to.

you can also write it poetically. Take a look at this:

All those moments you were around me,
All those moments we spent together,
Though they might be so short,
Though they might be just for minutes,
But those moments meant a lot to me.
Though i couldn't figure out how important your presence was,
though i didn't get to tell you how wonderful you sound around me
Until when those lovely smile of yours are nowhere to be found,
Until when there was no one to tell me its alright when everything is upside down
Until when i realized you meant ten thousands to me.
If i could be around you once again,
I'll make sure to use the best of it
and to never leave your side again.
i miss you so much dear.

just write something like that and i promise you it will be a wonderful experience.
GOOD LUCK!!!
